History – Margot Engagement Ring
(Margaret of Valois) for the daisy. Our Margot ring refers to Margaret of Valois, known as Queen Margot. Daughter of Henry II and Catherine de’ Medici, she married Henry IV. Her life and personality inspired numerous literary works, such as Alexandre Dumas’ “Queen Margot.” Upon her death, a funeral tribute described her, much like this ring: “The Queen of greatness, the greatness of spirits, the noble of flowers, the Marguerite of France.”
